Join our VE DAY 75th Anniversary Celebrations

VE Day marks the day towards the end of World War Two when fighting came to an end in Europe.  8th May commemorates the 75th Anniversary of this event.  Celebrations will be taking place to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to remember and honour the heroes of the Second World War.

As a Charity we are celebrating this occasion by working closely with local businesses, schools and colleges to raise £7,500 in our Dame Vera75 campaign to help fund a session for each child who attends our service.

Dame Vera Lynn played a huge part in the Second World War providing hope and reassurance for Allied troops abroad and their families back home and now, as President of Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity, she provides hope and reassurance for all the children and families who use our services.

Dame Vera said: "During the War 'my boys' were all heroes and showed determination and perseverance through the darkest of days.  Now, I am reminded of the importance of peseverance regularly through my Charity which helps young children affected by cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments.  These young people are also heroes and the perseverance they display every day is inspirational."

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

There are lots of ways you can get involved - if you are a pub hold a VE Day themed quiz, ask your school/college to hold a VE Day event, if you own a cafe or tea room put on an afternoon tea, or run your own event - the list is endless!  If you would like to get involved or would like further fundraising ideas call Natalie on 01444 473274 or email: natatlie.hogben@dvlcc.org.uk
