Sophia is a mother, a marketing specialist and guest TV presenter. At the London Paralympics in 2012 she run a lifetime best in the 200m and finished fourth in both her events.
Sophia retired from elite sport in 2013 after the World Championships and has now taken on the challenge of setting up the Superhero Tri – the UK's one and only disability sport series. There are now two events that families can take part in - the Superhero Tri which takes place in August and the npower Winter Wonderwheels in December. Sophia took on her role as Patron in 2014 and performed the opening ceremony and took part in our A2B Walk in 2015. She has also visited the service on a number of occasions and was the face of our Appeal in 2013.
Sophia was awarded the British Empire Medal for her voluntary services to disability sport in the New Year's Honours List 2019.
"As someone who has cerebral palsy I fully understand the issues and complexities this brings and through hard work and determination have proved that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it, whatever disadvantages you have been born with."
