Katie has been supporting the Charity not only in her role as the founder and lead singer of the D Day Darlings but also personally. Throughout the Covid 19 pandemic lockdowns Katie recorded a series of podcasts talking about a range of personal issues very close to the hearts of many of the families who attend the Charity.
Katie has also help raise a significant amount of money for the Charity in many different ways, including a music series "Sincerely Yours" dedicated to Dame Vera and the brilliant virtual concert which launched the 20th Birthday year for the Charity in December 2020, we are very thankful for everything that Katie has done so far and we look forward to continuing to working with her in the future.
Katie says "Being an ambassador of the Charity means a great deal to me. Dame Vera Lynn is my biggest inspiration, both personally and in my work, and I have always been completely in awe of everything she stood for and accomplished through her life and I'm dedicated to doing all I can to help continue her legacy. Having a nephew who has Angelman's Syndrome, a genetic disorder that mainly affects the nervous system, I have seen first hand how life changing it is for families to care for these special children and how virtual the support of the Charity is to families. It's so important that, as an ambassador of this incredible charity, I am involved in doing all it can to continue to provide support, and I look forward to raising more funds and awareness over the coming months and years."
