Woolwich Ferry to be named 'Dame Vera Lynn'

Transport for London have announced that one of the two new Woolwich Ferries is be named 'Dame Vera Lynn' in honour of her 100th Birthday.

The ferries will enter service in late 2018 and will complement a range of new river crossing in East London recently announced by the Mayor of London. 

Dame Vera said "It is wonderful to hear that one of the new boats for the Woolwich Ferry service is to be named in my honour.  I am truly humbled to have been chosen."
