Moore Blatch Solicitors have kindly agreed to provide introductory seminars, including case studies, for parents on two important issues:
State Provision - Care and Support - a seminar by Paula Barnes, Partner - 20th September 2017 from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Children with complex health needs are recognised by the Children Act 1989 as "children in need" and as a result are entitled to a wide range of services and support from the Local Authority and Health. Paula will explain the legal entitlement, process of assessment and obligations on NHS bodies and local authorities to co-operate and make joint commissioning arrangements.
EHC Plans - a seminar by Erin Smart, Education Solicitor - 4th October 2017 from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Children from 0-25 years with special education needs are entitled to an Education Health and Care plan in order to improve their access to education. Getting the right EHC plan in place in the early years can help set children up for the rest of their lives by ensuring all appropriate provision and support is provided in those crucial early years. Getting it wrong can lead to poor outcomes. For children with SEND, preparation must begin early to achieve the best possible outcomes. Eric will take parents through the process.
Both seminars will take place in the Family Room at Dame Vera Lynn Children's Centre. Please contact Glenys Creese if you would like to attend either or both of these seminars by phone or email 01444 473274 or email@example.com
