Messy Play

Messy Play is an important part in the development of a child.  Children can enjoy the freedom to explore and play with a range of materials.  These can be anything from sand, water and dough to playing with shaving foam, mud, gravel, and 'gloop' (a sticky substance made from cornflour and water)

Children are encouraged to play together and these sessions also give parents the opportunity to get to know each other whilst their children are having fun.

Messy Play teaches children many things:

  • Building concentration and learning to focus and overcome problems.
  • Children learn to become independent and follow through with their own ideas.
  • Developing co-ordination, especially hand-eye skills.
  • Children are given the freedom to explore and play in their own way.  This helps them to make their own decisions and to take responsibility.

All our Messy Play sessions are supervised by a member of our service team.
