These are just a few of the ways we are receiving support in the community.
Nina Smith is the mother of Evie who attends sessions at our Centre in Cuckfield. She is supporting our Charity by donating back profits from sales of products from her business.
Nina said "Arbonne is a botanically based Beauty Health and Wellness company that develops effective, pure and safe every day consumable products that are cruelty free, vegan certified and non toxic. I have been running my business since my daughter, Evie was 1 year old. At that time we were not aware of any health problems or disabilities for Evie. in late 2018 Evie was diagnosed with Periventricular Leukomalacia and Cerebral Palsy and we were all shocked. Soon after we heard about Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity and started attending sessions in March 2019. Evie's strength and confidence has grown so much since starting and I am truly thankful to everyone for all the support they have given to our family.
"I now want to show my support to Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity by donating back all profit made from sales of products from my business, by anyone working at or attending the Charity. There are a huge range of products available, including a children's range.
Co-op Community Fund
Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity has been chosen to take part in the Co-op local community fund. We are delighted to have partnered with the local Co-op store in Whiteman's Green, Cuckfield. Everytime a member shops at the Co-op 1% of what they spend on selected own-brand products goes to help fund local community projects. If you would like to support our cause by becoming a member you can do so by signing up Co-op Membership and then choose Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity to support.
Northlands Wood Community Primary School
India Richmond, who is 5 and a half years old, attends Northlands Wood and is a former pupil of Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity. She decided to ask her Head Teacher if the school could support our Charity with a sponsored walk at the school. On 9th July 2019 300 children took part in the walk and raised a fanastic £909.42 for our Charity. In December they are holding a Christmas jumper day to raise more funds.
St Francis Bowls Club
This local Bowls Club based in Scaynes Hill chose us to be their Charity of the Year for 2019. President of the Club, Sharon Whittaker, came to see us at our Centre as her grandaughter had done some work experience at the Charity and wanted to support us in some way. They have been collecting money throughout the year and also presented the Charity with a cheque following a talk given by our Community Fundraiser at their meeting.
Yoga for Charity
Crawley based Yoga teacher Klaudia Svendsen came along to one of our networking events and was so impressed with the work that we do for families she decided to support us with a fundraising yoga session. She held a yoga session at Mannings Heath Golf and Country Club on a Saturday morning and raised a total of £250 for our Charity. She is planning to hold another yoga event for us to raise even more funds.
