Challenge Events

Want to put yourself and your friends to the test? Then consider challenging yourself while raising funds for our Charity. From cycling to trekking, white water rafting and skydiving there is a huge variety of activities you and your team can take part in.

We've put a list together to give you some inspiration, but our suggestions are by no means exhaustive. Whatever you decide to do you will be helping our Charity continue to be able to provide vital services for families.

For more details about national and local events you can take on in aid of Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity, or challenges you can organise yourself, contact our Challenge Events Manager Nikki Cannon who can help get you started.

Marathons

Often considered the ultimate challenge, marathons test runners around a 26.2 mile course. We are looking for people to run on behalf of Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity. There are many marathons or half marathon taking place during the year so what are you waiting for?!

Cycle challenges

Land's End to John o' Groats, London to Brighton or even Paris to Nice – a cycling challenge can take you anywhere. Whether you want to take part in an established event or create your own two-wheeled route, we are on hand to help. And whatever your ability or experience there is a course out there for you.

Hiking and walking

If marathons have you running scared or cycling fills you with fear, consider a hiking or walking challenge. Through these events you can tackle terrain at your own speed and have the time and space to enjoy and take in the beautiful British countryside.

The Arundel to Brighton (A2B) Walk, Three Peaks or Thames Path Challenge are just some of the established routes you could tackle.

Something different

If you like more adrenalin-fuelled sports, you can incorporate these into raising funds. White water rafting, mountain climbing, husky sledding, skydiving and zip wiring are just some of the activities you can take part in for a more thrill seeking fundraiser. Some of these activities can also provide you with the opportunity to complete your challenge overseas.
